Ten Works by Ten Painters.
Hartford, CT: The Wadsworth Atheneum, [1964].
Limited edition, oversized folio, copy number 70 of 500, signed and inscribed, "It's always nice to meet a satisfied customer!" by Wadsworth Atheneum's Curator of Paintings Samuel J. Wagstaff, Jr. in ink on the limitation page; illustrated with ten color screenprints by George Ortman, Frank Stella, Ellsworth Kelly, Robert Motherwell, Any Warhol, Stuart Davis, Roy Lichtenstein, Larry Poons, Robert Indiana, and Ad Reinhardt, each contained in a printed paper folder blindstamped with the artist's name, laid in loose as issued; lacking the folders for Robert Indiana and Frank Stella's prints; one or two minor stains affecting title and preliminary blanks; housed in the original cloth portfolio printed with blue; lightly soiled at edges; 24 x 20 in.
Collection of Mrs. Barnett Malbin (The Lydia and Harry Lewis Winston Collection) - Krannert Art Museum "Extensions of the Artist: Prints from the Collection of Lydia and Harry Lewis Winston" October 12-November 16, 1969.
[Including] a rectangular piece of cardstock inscribed, "1st print, I think." dated 1983 and initialed "F.S" attributed to Frank Stella. A note accompanying the card states that Frank Stella visited previous owner Lydia Winston in 1983. When asked, he apparently stated that the print in this portfolio was likely his first, the note ostensibly the artist's written statement made at Winston's request.
