The cartoon features a defiant Baltimore Orioles mascot on a "long road trip" fending off attacks from baseball teams across the United States, including the New York Yankees, the Boston Red Sox, California/L.A. Dodgers, the Kansas City Athletics, and the Washington Senators. The Orioles would go on to win the 1966 World Series.

Jack Lambert studied at the National Academy of Design in New York City, and was a talented sculptor and painter in addition to his long career in editorial cartooning. Lambert was employed as an editorial cartoonist at the Baltimore News-American until his passing the following year.
