Additional Details

"Your note of the 20th instant was rec'd last evening calculating from your former letter that you would reach Blakely on the 21st. I sent on yesterday a boy with a note of instructions to meet you there, he has not returned and I presume will wait your arrival at that place. But lest he should not, I [write] this. I expect you will meet a supply of provisions, at Blakely or a small distance below, as I have sent over to Col Benton a supply for 500 men for five days. Should you find no provisions at Blakely, or instructions from Col Benton you had better notify me what supplies you want. The Boots with provisions guarded by 100 Indians and some white men . . . have more well below Blakely."
