Partly-printed Document Signed, as President, a patent issued to Oscar Willis for his invention of "machinery for washing gold, called the Rail Way Car Gold Riddle." Countersigned by Secretary of State Edward Livingston and Attorney General R. B. Taney. The patent, one page stitched to a one-page description of the invention Signed by Willis. Approximately 14x101/2 inches; some fading, small hole along fold with minor loss, other holes along folds of the description. Washington, 21 December 1831
