Bellange used the same general pose of the figure at the left of his drawing repeatedly in his work. Notably in the figure of the Virgin in The Holy Family, etching (Griffiths/Hartley 5), the figure behind the Virgin and Child in The Adoration of the Magi etching (Griffiths/Hartley 10), and the seated woman in the center of Military Figures Outside a City, etching and engraving (Griffiths/Hartley 39).
