JACQUES BONNEAUD (1898-1971) TITANIC. Circa 1943. 62 3/4x92 3/4 inches, 159x.234 cm. Condition B+: repaired tears, creases and abrasions in margins and image; restoration and discoloration along vertical and horizontal folds; two sheets. A German film, shot and released during the Second World War, this version of the sinking of the famous ship was more of a propaganda effort than it was historical fiction. The movie premiered in 1943 and was met with a lackluster public response. Ironically it was ultimately banned by the German regime. The film resurfaced in 1949, but was quickly banned throughout Europe.
