The Battle of Avigliano was fought in the Piedmont region of Italy on July 10, 1630 between a French army under the command of Henri II de Montmorency and a Spanish army under the command of Don Carlo Doria. The result was a French victory, commemorated by Callot in this etching bearing a portrait of the victorious French commander, upper center, and his coat-of-arms below. Lieure 663.
