Handsome map of North America showing California as an island primarily based on Guillaume Sanson's map of 1669. Later states of the map attach California to the mainland. As seen with other examples of 1695, the date is in contemporary ink within the left title cartouche and the date in the right scale cartouche has been abraded. Burden II 438; Tooley page 121.
