According to Spink, et als, this watermark (see Spink 280) appears on lifetime impressions of several other contemporaneous lithographs by Whistler, notably Entrance Gate, 1887; Little Court, Cloth Fair, 1887; and Chelsea Shops, 1888 (Spink 20, 22 and 24). A superb, early impression of this very scarce lithograph, with the dark inking along the edge of the robe near the right arm and with all the subtle tonal variations showing clearly.
