An album with 24 photographs of Hawaii, including Princess Kaiulani, surfers, landscapes, cityscapes, agricultural scenes, and more. 1890s.
The portrait of Princess Kaiulani (The Last Princess) is rare, and the album features a broad spectrum of Old Hawaiian scenes, including Iolani Palace, Honolulu, Waikiki, flora and other natural landscape, commerce, and more. Albumen prints, the images measuring approximately 7¼x9½ inches (18.4x24.1 cm.), and the reverse, mounted recto/verso, four with Williams' credit and thirteen with a location or caption in the negative, and the first with a caption and each page with a sequential number in ink on mount recto; with a handwritten sheet listing each image in ink laid in. Oblong 4to, black ½ leatherette over cloth, lightly worn.
