JAMES MACINTOSH PATRICK (1907-1998) ST. ANDREWS. Circa 1955. 39 7/8x25 inches. Condition B / B+: minor restoration along vertical and horizontal folds; repaired tears in margins affecting image; overpainting along edges and in corners; discoloration in image. Considered by some to be Scotland's best landscape painter of the 20th century, Patrick was also a master etcher. This image, which is very similar to Frank Mason's poster advertising the Scottish golfing destination, shows the sweep of the bay, the beach, the links and the town in the distance.
