Born in Omaha, Nebraska, James W. Williamson graduated from Yale in 1923 and went on to develop a prolific illustration career. He is best known for his advertisements for Arrow Shirts, Ford, and Clicquot Club Ginger Ale, and his work for a number of magazines such as Life, Punch, Vanity Fair, and The Delineator. He regularly illustrated for The Saturday Evening Post as well.
