Leoš Janácek," to Mrs. M[arie] L[ouise] Kretschmer, in Czech, on a photograph postcard, explaining why he came to the mountains, noting that his opera The Makropulos Affair went to Brünn [where it premiered in the National Theater on December 18], adding that there is no lack of deer hunters in his woods, and sending regards to her husband [Otto Kretschmer (1875-1945)]. The verso is a photograph showing Hukvaldy Park with a group of deer standing in the snow. 1 page, oblong 12mo; faint scattered staining, cancelled 50-haléru stamp at upper right.
