Recent Still Life was originally commissioned by the List Art Poster Program for the American Federation of Arts and used as a poster for the Rhode Island School of Design's 1965 exhibition of Johns' works. After the unsigned collotype poster edition was made, ULAE printed the smaller edition on handmade Italia paper. Field 50.
