". . . From the tenor of your letter I am exceedingly anxious to learn how the change and journey have affected your health. This letter will probably find you at Rye, and I have directed Sam'l to go there, that he may bring me early and particular information. Could I with any prudence leave our dear daughter alone in the house, with none but servants ab't her, I would instantly set out with my brother, but that cannot be proper . . . .
". . . To be tied here on such an occasion is painful. I shall expect Sam's return with much impatience. God bless and preserve you my dear Sally."
