Droit was a painter and illustrator who designed several posters for France during the First World War and several travel posters in the years between the wars. He is best known for his poster designed for the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris. The Reims Cathedral was damaged during the opening days of World War One and didn't fully reopen until 1938. We can approximately date this poster based on the printer's name and address, which appear on the poster. Lucien Serre only operated out of 19 rue de Terrage in the later half of the 1920s. By 1929 the printer had expanded and the address encompassed "15-17-19 rue de Terrage."
