Raffaëlli (1850-1924) was a French realist painter and printmaker who, on Degas' insistence, also exhibited with the Impressionists in 1880 and 1881. During the late 1800s/early 1900s, Raffaëlli concentrated on color etchings of views in and around Paris, achieving tonal affects similar to Whistler's etchings.
