This large, scarce woodcut image shows the author Christophe de Savigny (circa 1530/35-circa 1587/90) presenting his 16th century compendium on the liberal arts to Louis de Gonzague, Duke of Nevers (1539-1595), the scion of the Dukes of Mantua and a supporter of the French King Henry II.
