JEAN JACQUELIN (1905-1989) AU MAROC PAR AVION / AEROPOSTALE. 1930.
31 1/2x23 3/4 inches, 80x60 1/2 cm. Editions Step, Paris.

Aeropostale was originally named Lignes Aeriennes Latécoère after its founder and airplane manufacturer, Pierre-Georges Latécoère. His first flight between Paris and Morocco was in 1919 and he was running daily service as early as 1920. The company assumed the name Aeropostale in 1927. Pictured here is a Latécoère 25-3.R, which cuts an anachronistic image, flying over the minarets of Morocco. Airlines p. 55, Airways p. 44, Plus Haut p. 25.
