This vintage print was made by JEB. Kady Van Deurs was the author of The Notebooks That Emma Gave Me: The Autobiography of a Lesbian (1978) and Panhandling Papers (1989), a collection of excerpts, essays, letters, and drawings. Kady and Pagan lived together in a small cabin in the woods.
A different photograph of them together appears on the cover of JEB's book, Eye to Eye: Portraits of Lesbians, originally published in 1979 by Glad Hag Books and reissued by Anthology Editions in 2021.
