This portrait was the cover image of Jeb's 1979 publication, "Eye to Eye: Portraits of Lesbians,". When describing her desire to create this body of work to the "New York Times," Jeb stated "I started photographing at a time when it was almost impossible to find authentic images of lesbians. I wanted my photographs to be seen: I believed they could help build a movement for our liberation.'
