Additional Details

The text of an amendment to the Embargo Act of 1807, an effort to protect American sovereignty in the years before the War of 1812. The act does not relate to slavery except in a metaphorical sense. We trace one copy in OCLC, another partial copy at the Library of Congress, and none at auction.
