JIM DINE
The Hand Painted Portrait on Thin Fabriano.

Etching, drypoint and electric tools with hand coloring in oil between printings and white grease crayon after editioning on Fabriano CMF Tiepolo paper, 1979. 366x353 mm; 14 3/8x13 7/8 inches, full margins. Signed, dated and numbered 1/6 in pencil, lower margin. Printed by Ami Rosenberg, Burston Graphic Center, Jerusalem. Published by Pace, New York. A superb impression of this extremely scarce print.
We have not found another impression at auction in the past 30 years.

A self-portrait etching which Dine (born 1935) painted in oil during the printing process, each of the impressions in the small edition of only 6 is unique. D'Oench/Feinberg 44.
