Jean Barrez was born in New York, but worked mostly in France, on satirical newspapers and vintage posters. In 1922, he founded his own advertising studio, for which he completed commissions for companies like Olida, Toni Coop wine, and Cigares Diplomates. His artwork was part of the painting event in the art competition at the 1928 Summer Olympics. Barrez/Bridge, designed several other posters for sporting events such as a rugby match in New Zealand, rowing, and 1938 World Cup in France. Sport a L'Affiche 156.
