JOAN MIRÓ
Poèmes pour Ruthven Todd.

Color aquatint, 1947. 176x140 mm; 7x51/2 inches, full margins. Artist's proof. Signed by Miró and Todd, inscribed "épreuve d'essai pour Todd" and dated "New York 18/6/47" in pencil, lower margin. A superb impression of this extremely scarce print, with strong colors.

One of 6 aquatints produced by Miró in collaboration with the poet Ruthven Todd at Stanley W. Hayter's Atelier 17 in New York. The 6 plates were part of an unpublished, unnumbered set (Cramer notes, "6-10 exemplaires, non numérotés") possibly for an unrealized artist's book. Each of the prints is an artist's proof and uniquely inked. Dupin, vol. I, pp. 16-17; Cramer 14.
