Additional Details

Between C&D was one of the most influential literary magazines of the downtown New York scene. It provided a forum for both established and emerging writers, many from the LGBTQ+ community, whose voice were not being heard in mainstream conventional literary magazines. The magazine published a story written by the late chef Anthony Bourdain about a chef scoring heroin on the Lower East Side. Over the years, Rose nurtured Bourdain's talent and published a number of books together, including Typhoid Mary, the graphic novels "Get Jiro!," "Get Jiro: Blood and Sushi," and "Anthony Bourdain's Hungry Ghosts," in 2018.

Number 2 (subtitled "Post-Modern Lower East Side Fiction Magazine") has cover art by Rick Prol and an envelope containing printed stamps and postcards by Carlo Pittore and Jeff Wright. Featuring stories by Joel Rose, Catherine Texier, David Wojnarowicz, Patrick McGrath, Miguel Pinero, Raul-Santiago Sebazco, Lisa Blaushild, Lynne Tillman, William Barbari, Mike Topp, Reinaldo Arana and Bina Sharif. Includes photographic collaboration between Hektor Munoz and Mario Sostre.
Number 4 (subtitled "Neo-Expressionist Lower East Side Fiction Magazine") has both cover art and a loose poster by David Wojnarowicz (the latter with Marion S.). Featuring stories by Dennis Cooper, Reinaldo Povod, Lisa Blaushild, Gary Indiana, Darius James, Peter Conte, Mark Leyner, Peter Cherches, Mike Topp, Lois Elaine Griffith and Lenora Champagne.
