By the beginning of the 20th century Vienna was becoming such a tourist attraction that, in 1907, the city began to run special excursion trams, equipped with elegant parlor cars, around the city. This poster announced this new service. Here, well-turned out visitors with guide book and binoculars in hand, are taking a tour past the Austrian parliament on the Ringstrasse. They are looking at the statue of Athena in front of the building and the spires of City Hall are visible in the background. This image was also used on postcards. Larwin was a painter who studied art in Vienna and is primarily known for his scenes of Viennese life.
