Black crayon on light tan wove paper, 1952. 310x340 mm; 12 1/4x13 1/2 inches. Signed and dated in crayon, lower right recto, and inscribed "Harriet Tubman" in crayon, upper left recto. Acquired directly from the artist by the current owner.

A study for the same-titled mural for the Blue Triangle YWCA, Houston. The study focuses on various views of Harriet Tubman as well as a scene of seated farmers, from the lower left quadrant of the mural, with a seated mother and child.
