John Edmonds is the winner of the Foam Paul Huf Award in 2021. A part of this prize was his solo exhibition A Sidelong Glance at FOAM, the Museum of Photography in Amsterdam in 2022.
This image of a young man holding and kissing a maternity bust from the Lega people (or Warega), a Bantu ethnic group of the Democratic Republic of Congo, is part of John Edmonds' A Sidelong Glance: an ongoing body of work in which Edmonds examines issues of identity and power from an African American perspective.
