John Fleming Gould was a graduate of Pratt and later, an art instructor there for 22 years. He was a prominent illustrator for the Saturday Evening Post for more than 8 years. He made figurative and landscape oil paintings, often of New York City and the Hudson Valley, and he was an art consultant and illustrator for General Electric Company in NY and the Erie, PA Locomotive Division.
