Watercolor and gouache, 3 on board and 5 on paper. 406x584 mm; 16x23 inches, or slightly smaller. Not signed. Occasional indications and registration marks in the outer margins, date stamps on verso.

A colorful and charming group of works showing farm and woodland creatures in moments of wonderment, play, or contentment. Images include a fox teaching his kits about grapes, two images of ducklings learning to swim, fledgling chicks with proud parents, pups, fawn and mother, a colt and mother, and a barnyard gathering. Best known for his advertising and magazine illustrations, Pike also ran an eponymous school for watercolor instruction in Woodstock, New York from 1960-1979.
