JOHN WATERS (1946-)

Signed scratch-and-sniff "Odorama" card from a screening of his film Polyester, with related flier.
Double-sided card (280x130 mm; 5x11 inches) on glossy stock, reading on recto "Divine and Tab Hunter in Polyester, filmed in Odorama. Smelling is Believing," with an illustration of the two stars, and with 10 unused pink scratch and sniff stickers on verso; vertical folds, moderate foxing; signed by Waters underneath the portraits. No place, circa 1981.

The film's viewers were told "Do not scratch until you received instructions from the film." The ten smells are said to include flatulence, pizza, skunk, and dirty shoes. We don't discern any odor, but then we haven't given the stickers a good scratch yet, either.

With -- a flier for a screening of Polyester at the Fine Arts Work Center, 280x215 mm; 11x8½ inches; worn and foxed with 4 holes where mounted; illustrated with images of Waters and Divine. [Provincetown, MA], Friday 17 January [1986?].
