Rare group of 27 large-format landscape and industrial views of the Delaware and Hudson Canal and gravity line railroad, comprising scenes of the Delaware and Hudson Canal Company's facilities and operations in Providence, Carbondale, Honesdale, Archibald, Waymart, Dickson, Scranton, and Olyphant, including one 4-section panoramic view of Honesdale and one 3-section panoramic view of Carbondale, views on the Moosic and breakers, inclined planes, shafts, bridges, machine shops, and the Scranton Terminus. Albumen prints, 12x16 inches (30.5x40.6 cm.), each is mounted on a gilt-bordered mount with Johnson's title and credit on the letterpress mount. Circa 1860-71
