Puder (the daughter of Isabella Sayre), identifying the real Mom Beck as Rebecca Porter, "She Originally belonged to my Grandmother, a dear old colored woman we called Mom Beck . . . She was put into The Little Colonel stories as Mom Beck." Also with drafts of two letters written by Puder to Smith, on the same subject. with a photograph of "mom beck", an early silver copy print of the original that was inscribed by Johnston, which according to the letters was returned to Smith.
