Estimate: $ 800 - $ 1,200
JOS VAN WOERKOM (1902-1992) BERLITZ. Circa 1935.
461/2x351/2 inches. N.V. Remaco.
Condition A-: repaired tear in bottom right margin.
With a graphic device straight from Cassandre's Bonal poster, van Woerkom captures the concept of the poster's motto: "Languages open up the world for you." The famed language program was founded in 1878 by Maximilian Berlitz and was based on learning a language as a discovery process rather than the traditional method of rote memorization.
