Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Jose Camacho traveled to the United States at the age of nineteen to attend Montclair State University. He earned a Bachelor of Art degree in 1991. He has received various awards for his artistic achievements, and held two residencies: Rutgers Center for Innovative Print and Paper, 2006; New Jersey State Council of the Arts. Camacho is currently creating his own art and serving as Director of Midland Gallery in Montclair, NJ.
