Sudek often sent photographs to his friends containing handwritten messages. The notations on the back of the print read:

Dear Vorech, The tickets to the Rudolfinum will be available only next week. Sister sends her thanks for the embroidered tablecloths and asks if it would be possible to get some more. Otherwise, I'll get in touch at the end of the week about the tickets and I'll bring new photographs. Your Sudek.
