The Jyldis cigarette company (the word means "star" in Turkish) was founded in 1919. The company moved to Saarlouis, which had been occupied by the French since the end of World War I, in 1929. Another image Binder designed for the company, which also mentioned this peculiarly named cigarette, was reprinted in Modern Publicity magazine on January 1, 1928. One cannot help but recognize the head in the fez, an image which Binder used to lasting acclaim and recognition for Julius Meinl, whose logo he designed in 1924. previously unrecorded - rare. We could find no other copies at auction.
