JOSEPH BINDER UNITED AIR LINES / WASHINGTON. 1957.
401/4x243/4 inches.
Condition A-: repaired tears in bottom margin; minor creases in margins.
One in a series of posters Binder designed for United Airlines (others include New York and New England), here featuring the familiar and striking image of the Lincoln Memorial. Joseph Binder emigrated from Austria to America in 1936. He had studied at the Vienna School of Applied Arts and had already staked his claim to graphic fame with the creation of the logo for the Julius Meinl company (a little boy in a fez). An accomplished graphic artist he brought his talents to America where his illustration style was immediately popular.
