Hungarian-born Feher studied art in Budapest, Italy and Germany before coming to America in 1928, where he had a scholarship to study at the Art Institute of Chicago. He moved to Hawaii in 1947, where he worked as a designer for the Bishop Museum and taught at the Honolulu Academy of the Arts. One of his largest commissions was with United Airlines, for whom he designed at least ten posters. In each, he depicted a Douglas DC-6 flying over recognizable manmade and natural landmarks. Here, the aircraft soars above Mount Rainier. Known as the Skymaster, the DC-6 was an updated version of the DC-4, and "became the Lockheed Constellation's main competitor" (Fly Now! p. 145).
