This poster is in many ways the partner of the previous lot. No longer "where are they coming from?" this poster asks, "where are they taking her?" It is a visual allegory of an attempt to move the cabaret scene from Montmartre to central Paris. "Le Violin" was one such club, but it is also a play on words, being French slang for police station. Hence the image of the policeman escorting the young coquette. Grün p. 33, DFP II 426, Maitres 103, Maitres 1900 p. 36.
