It is a suggestive night scene, set by the silhouette of the Moulin de la Galette against a yellow moon. In the foreground a sexy young girl with "an ample décolleté (a mere strap, possibly required by the censors, hides her nipple)" (Grün p. 52), is being grabbed by an alluring ambi-sexual Pierrot who is "asking," "t'y viens t'y" ["are you coming?"], in enticing, ribald Cigale humor.
