For this poster "Grün's farewell to La Cigale after a long collaboration -- he decides to surprise, not with his subject since it is always a merry reveler, but by the green color of her dress, a color previously never used (red being the quasi-omnipresent color) and avoided at all costs due to the superstitious nature of the theatre and spectacle crowd. Provocation? Nothing supports such a claim, but it certainly is a surprise" (Grün p. 54).
