Waving the Stars and Stripes, a Cherette is out for a ride on her new American bicycle. Chéret only designed one other bicycle poster. Coming rather late in his career, this image is more pictorial than his earlier, graphic work. It is one of the few images he designed where his subject actually has her feet on the ground (as opposed to the free-floating style of many of his subjects during the 1890s) Broido, 1066, Chéret 1427, DFP-II 270.
