George Inness (1825-1894) was a largely self-taught landscape painter who absorbed the influences of the Barbizon and Hudson River Schools. Peter A. Juley (1862-1937) became the largest and most respected fine art photography studio in New York, serving museums, galleries, art dealers, and almost every major American artist.
