Julian Allen's work has graced the pages of numerous prestigious publications. This collaboration with the writer Bruce Wagner for the project, "Wild Palms" demonstrates his ability to bring narratives to life through his art. The original comic strip published in Details magazine led to its adaptation into a television miniseries directed by Oliver Stone, and a later Details comic, "Cul de Sac." The noir aesthetic of "Wild Palms" showcases Allen's talent for capturing mood and atmosphere. Sometimes referred to as "an illustrator's illustrator," he was a teacher and collaborator, inspiring future generations of illustrators.

Allen's work is in the the Norman Rockwell Museum's permanent collection, and is currently on view. He was also one of a small group of founders of the American Illustration Annual. It continues to thrive and is now in its 42nd year.
