JULIAN ELTINGE (1881-1941)
Group of 3 postcards depicting the famed female impersonator. Each 140x90 mm; 5½x3½ inches, unused, with A.H. Woods theatrical promotional information on verso. Two depict Eltinge in his titular role from the 1914 play "The Crinoline Girl," with minimal wear. The third shows Eltinge with 2 faces, straight and drag, and is captioned "Julian Eltinge in 'The Fascinating Widow,'" a 1911 production, overprinted in red on verso with performance dates at the Grand Opera House; this one is worn and slightly stained. "The Fascinating Widow" was staged at Ford's Grand Opera House in Baltimore on these dates in 1913.
