The Hindenburg Zeppelin (LZ-129) pictured soaring over the skyscrapers of Manhattan. A gap in the cloudy sky illuminates the spire of the Empire State Building, whose tower was originally conceived as a dirigible docking mast! This idea was eventually abandoned when the winds proved too unpredictable at 1,350 feet above the city. The Hindenburg's illustrious career was terminated on May 6, 1937, when she burst into flames upon landing in Lakehurst, New Jersey. This is an extremely RARE English language variation (the poster is also known to exist in German and Italian), as the English text usually reads "2 days to Europe." Fly Now! p. 49.
