A captivating image for the seaside resort of Zoppot (Sopot, in English). Situated on the Gulf of Gdansk, almost equidistant from Gdansk and Gdynia, Sopot's reputation was on par with the great seaside resorts of western Europe. She boasted bath houses, an opera, casinos, beaches and much more; visible here is her 512 meter long wooden pier. Sopot was part of Prussia before World War II (actually within the Free State of Danzig) and was ceded to Poland under the Treaty of Versailles. This is the English version.
