12mo, metal-edged binding with clasp and central monogrammed cartouche fitted with amber-toned transparent celluloid boards and spine decorated with an overall pattern of fine small stars, all edges gilt; the metal elements of the binding in gold vermeil, signed Paris with the hallmark of French goldsmith Thevenet Eugene (T and E separated by a horse); watered silk endleaves; housed in custom silk-lined clamshell box with metal clasp, very nicely preserved; sold as a binding; 4 1/2 x 3 1/2 in.
